Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to use MiniReliX, or have verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Unless we agree otherwise, you may hold one account. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our community standards.

2. The Service and changes

MiniReliX lets you collect digital "relics" by scanning QR codes placed at real world locations, keep them on themed shelves, build a profile, and follow other collectors. We are continually improving the Service and may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, relics, collections, or QR code locations at any time. Relic availability is not guaranteed and may be limited by location, time, or region.

3. Acceptable use and code of conduct

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or trespass on private or restricted property to reach a relic;
• falsify, spoof, or manipulate your device location, or otherwise cheat the collection or geofencing system;
• use bots, scripts, scrapers, or other automated systems to access the Service or collect relics;
• harass, abuse, threaten, defame, or discriminate against others, or upload content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable;
• upload photos or content you do not have the right to share, or that infringe the rights or privacy of others;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, or interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security;
• impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate access for any breach of these rules.

4. Safety during play

MiniReliX involves traveling to real world locations, and your safety is your own responsibility. Always be aware of your surroundings, obey all laws and posted signs, respect private property and other people, and never play while driving, cycling, or in any way that could endanger you or others. Do not enter dangerous, restricted, or prohibited areas to collect a relic. You play at your own risk.

5. Relics and virtual items

Relics and other virtual items are digital collectibles that exist only within the Service. They have no monetary value, are not real world goods or currency, and cannot be redeemed, exchanged, or transferred for money. We grant you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable license to use the virtual items you collect within the Service. We may modify, manage, or remove virtual items at any time. You do not acquire ownership of the intellectual property in any relic or item.

6. Purchases

The Service does not currently sell paid items. Some collections or items may be offered for purchase in the future. If and when paid features are introduced, the applicable prices, payment terms, and any refund conditions will be presented to you at the point of purchase and will form part of these Terms.

7. Your content

You keep your rights in the photos and content you submit. By submitting content (for example, photos attached to relics, your username, display name, or profile photo), you grant MiniReliX a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to host, store, display, and use that content as needed to operate and promote the Service. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to share it. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including the MiniReliX name, logo, app, software, relic artwork, and design, is owned by MiniReliX and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without our prior written consent, unless permitted by mandatory law.

9. Third party services

The Service relies on and may link to third party services (such as Google Firebase, Cloudflare, and mapping or location providers). We do not control and are not responsible for third party services or content, which are provided "as is". Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

10. Personal information

Your use of the Service and the personal data we process are governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error free, or secure, that relics or QR codes will be available or accurately placed, or that location verification will always be accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law, MiniReliX and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service or your travel to or presence at any location. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount, if any, you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by law, including damages caused by intent or conscious recklessness (opzet of bewuste roekeloosheid).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MiniReliX and its operator from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these Terms or our community standards. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will survive.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the unenforceable provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in Amsterdam, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page with its date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of those changes.
